Is My Pool Leaking?
If your pool water level is decreasing by more than ¼ inch of water per day, you may have a leak! An automatic fill device can cause a leak to be more difficult to detect. Here are some other signs to look for…

The Bucket Test
Many times, a pool will lose water due to evaporation and not a leak. To help you determine if your pool may be leaking, you can perform the Bucket Test.
- Fill your pool to normal operating level: mid-tile or mid-skimmer
- Fill a bucket with pool water: approximately one inch from the top, and mark water level inside bucket
- Place bucket on first or second step of pool
- Turn on pump and let pump run for a few minutes and then mark pool water level on the outside of the bucket
- After 24 hours, compare the two levels
